ABSTRACT

Under conditions of seasonal rainfall, bean yield with N fertilization (FN), is limited by the amount and distribution of the same. In Mexico 85% of the acreage of this crop is under this condition, so it would be expected that supplementary irrigation (R) could be achieved by an increased response to FN. The aim of the study was to determine the answer based on pod production, grain pods index, grain yield, biomass and nitrogen agronomic efficiency of bean Cacahuate 72 (Cacahuate) determinate growth habit Type I. Seeding was in rainfall regime (T) at June 16, 2012, with a density of 6.25 plants/m2, in Montecillo, state of México, Mexico, temperate climate and 2250 m of altitude, in clay loam soil with 50 mg NO3 / kg soil and pH of 7.0. Treatments consisted of developing the crop under: T1) rainfall (T) and 100 kg of nitrogen (N)/ha

before planting; T2) T without N; T3) T with R of 5 cm at 52 and 70 days after sowing (DAS) and 100 kg N/ha ; T4) T with R without N. In addition, the whole crop was supplied 100 kg phosphorus (P2O5)/ha. The experimental design was a randomized block with split plot arrangement and four replications. Only differences in DDS to physiological maturity (PM) were observed. Thus the emergence occurred at 8, the onset of flowering to 50; the beginning of pod filling to 66 DAS and PM was to 90 under T and 98 DAS with T and R. In T, the N increased biomass, the pod number and grain pods index, grain number, grain yield and nitrogen agronomic efficiency. The bean response to N with R was higher.
